So you're using a negative space on top of your bed with your ladder racks to get those bigger, bulkier items out on the road with you. How is it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Yakima SkinnyWarrior Rooftop Basket on our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. Now, a rooftop basket is gonna help solve the issue of having limited cargo space, because you have a compact pickup. You know, cargo space is at a premium, and this lets you use that negative space on top of your roof. So our basket is actually constructed of powder coated steel, so that's gonna hold up against the elements out there on the road and, you know, help resist corrosion. Overall, our basket is a pretty decent amount of space as far as usable space. You're right at about a little over 22 inches as far as your width, and your length is right at 55 as far as the usable space in your basket, and a little bit over five inches as far as the height of the bar. more

The SkinnyWarrior is gonna be great if you ran out of storage in your back or if you're hauling anything that's larger or dirty. The Yakima SkinnyWarrior is pretty long. It's 54 inches long, but if you find yourself needing more room it does have this back opening to store any additional space, for any additional space. And the front has this removable fairing, so if you need to extend anything out past this point. And for the width we have 21 inches so that's gonna leave us plenty of room for anything like a kayak carrier. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the CURT roof-mounted cargo basket on top of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Our cargo basket is made of steel with a black powder coating, which just means it's gonna be more durable and weather-resistant. That durability is gonna help with, if you need to hang or attach anything to tie down your luggage on top. And then we also have this front bearing, which is gonna cut down on wind drag and wind noise. But if you would like to push anything past this point, you can remove this front bearing, as well. We do have an adjustable clamp here, so it can clip onto any two rungs at any point on our cargo basket. more

Now in general a cargo basket is a great way to carry extra gear whether it doesn't fit in the vehicle or try to make more space in the vehicle by getting some of that cargo out of the inside and put it up top or on the back in the hitch, whatever it might be. A roof mounted carrier is a great option if you already have something in the hitch, maybe a trailer or a camper, or maybe you've got a bike rack back there and you need some space for everyone's stuff, especially if you have the third row seats up in the Tahoe. That back cargo area is pretty small and if you've got the car full of people all those people have stuff, it needs a place to go. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OffGrid on top of our 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. Regardless of what cargo basket you're going for, it's a great way to carry some extra gear with you, especially with the Tahoe, if you have that third row seats up, your cargo space in the back isn't very large, and if you've got the vehicle fully packed with people, chances are if you're going on a trip or something like that, they're gonna have a lot of stuff, and you need somewhere for that to go. You could always go for a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, but maybe you've got a bike rack in there or maybe another hitch-mounted accessory like a ball mount for a camper. The next best place to put your stuff is up on the roof. Now, a lot of people like to go with an enclosed rooftop box, but a basket's really nice, because if you have anything that's messy or dirty, it's not going to get trapped inside, it can kinda drain out through the bottom of the bars, and we have the ability to carry some bulkier or oversized things that might not fit in a box with the lid closed. more

While that might be an easy option for us, but each Traverses don't come with hitches, so getting this up on a roof is gonna be a good option rather than having to get that hitch, then get the cargo basket. All we gotta do hopefully get something that's not gonna cost us nearly as much to get that affordability on top of here. Keep it in mind too, we do get a lot of space in the Traverse, however, when we start getting a lot more people especially in those back rows, not a lot of room. more

Have you planned on taking a decent amount of people in your Equinox on a longer trip They're probably gonna have a whole lot of stuff whether you have coolers, your bags or any type of other gear that may be starting to clutter up the back maybe it's starting to obscure your vision through your rear-view mirror. That's not something we really want. It's gonna be nice just to get all that stuff up and out side of the Equinox so we can have a lot more space on the inside to keep everybody a lot more comfortable. There isn't a whole lot of things we need to worry about when getting this up and onto our roof, it's relatively light so you could do it by yourself but also with the roof rack setup. more

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer.Today, we're going to be taking a look at the etrailer rooftop cargo basket. So this is going to be a great way to get a lot of that cargo that's on the inside of your guys's Tahoe up and out, so it's going to give everybody a lot more room.As of right now, the room that we have inside the cargo carrier is going to be about 55in x 31-3/8in and these rails are going to sit about 9 inches tall. It's going to fit on a lot of other bars that you guys have even if you do have the OEM factory roof rack system with your guys's Tahoe. The cool thing about this product compared to all the other ones is we actually have options when it comes to size. We can actually add an insert sold separately, and that's going to add about 12 inches of length to the basket, which I really like that just because we have those kind of options. If we don't have a whole lot of stuff, and we really don't want this big, old thing up on top of our Tahoe, we can actually remove this, of course, and then that will take away about 12 inches of storage.One thing I like to do in putting these baskets up on the roof is offsetting them to one side. more

So, we do have the smaller cargo basket up top, but Yakima does make another OffGrid roof basket that is going to be 62 inches long, but all the same measurements everywhere else. So, this OffGrid is going to be 44 inches long by 40 inches wide and seven inches tall.What sets this cargo basket apart from the others is going to be, we do have some nice bars inside our cargo basket, and that's going to be used for two different things. Some customers use it just to divide their bulky items, just to kind of get it a little bit more organized. more

Adam: Hi, everyone, Adam, with etrailer.com today, we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow MaxxHaul roof cargo basket on our 2019 Chevrolet Suburban. So the usable space on this cargo basket is going to be 38 and a half inches by 34 and a half inches. And these walls are going to sit up about three and a quarter inches. So this is going to have a steel tubular design with a nice powder-coated finish. So it's going to look good for a while and it's going to resist against rust and corrosion, and that steel does give it that 150 pound weight capacity, but always check your owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can handle that weight on the roof. It also does come with a front fairing here, which is going to help direct that wind over your cargo, cutting down on some of that drag that you get at high speeds and just making it a lot quieter.So the mounting hardware for this cargo basket does think about your rails and your cargo. more

Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna test fit the Rola Atlas Roof Cargo Basket.It's gonna be a great accessory for your truck. It's gonna allow you to get any type of cargo or other gear out of your truck or even out of the bed, and get it up on your roof to create more space in those areas. It'll have a fairing on the front that's integrated into it, that's gonna help cut down on wind noise and drag while you're traveling, even at high speeds. One thing you just wanna keep in mind is that anything you put on your roof, you are gonna have wind noise and you're gonna have more drag. Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're doing a test fit of the Kuat Skinny Roof Top Cargo Carrier. This also doubles as a bike rack. That part number is SK01. It is eighty-two by twenty-three inches, has a weight capacity of one hundred and sixty pounds. Just want to make sure that you check your owners manual before that. This has a maximum cross bar spread capability of thirty-six inches and can carry up to one bike with a weight of fifty pounds. Today on our 2015 Chevy Cruze, we're going to take a look at the Thule Canyon Roof Cargo Basket. Part number is TH859. Now we have three of the four hold-downs on. I'm going to show you how we're going to install the last one. Now this is a 49x40x6 cargo basket. It can hold up to 150 pounds, but we always say check your owner's manual on your vehicle to make sure how much weight you can hold. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Limited- Video
Today, on our 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Limited, we have our Thule Canyon Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, Part Number TH859. We have 3 of our 4 mounts in place. Let me show how this last one is installed. As you can see, we have this bracket in place, it is movable based on where you need it to be for your roof mounts. You can put on different bars depending on how wide you want it, and it does move back and forth. We take our U bolt. This does come with different size U bolts. more

SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport- Video
Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Captiva we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sportrack Vista Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket, part number SR9035. This cargo basket's going to have a sturdy steel construction with a 110 pound weight capacity. It'll be 44" long, 39 1/8" wide by 6" deep. As you can see we've already got two of our feet in place around our aero type bars and these will fit your square bars, round bars, elliptical bars, even your factory crossbars as well. We have the rear passenger also in place, we're going to show you how to place on the driver side rear today. First thing you want to do is place your spacer in between your basket and your crossbar system. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport- Video
Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon Rooftop-Mounted Cargo Basket. Now this cargo basket's going to be part number TH859. It's going to measure 49 inches long, 40 inches wide, and have a depth of 6 inches. With its sturdy steel construction, it's going to have a 150-pound weight capacity. With its 150-pound weight capacity, you just need to make sure that your roof can support that just by checking your vehicle's owner manual before you get started. Now, with this, it's going to be sitting up on top of our Thule Aero Blades, and you're going to need to measure out your feet so using an Allen tool or Allen key, go ahead and loosen those up before you place it up on top, and measure from one side to the other to get your cross-bar spread. Then space those out and tighten them back down to that cross-bar spread so when you put it on, it makes for an easy installation. more

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket. It's going to be part number TH859. This basket is going to be 49 inches long, 40 inches wide, have a depth of six inches, and with its sturdy steel construction is going to have 150 pound weight capacity. As you can see, we do have it up on our top of our Thule Arrow Blade Roof Rack System, and I have the 2 feet in front as well as one in the back in place. We're going to show you how to place that last one on on this back corner passenger side here. First thing you'll want to do is take you U shape bolt, placing 2 washers on and just starting your 2 wing nuts like so. Place one washer underneath of each wing nut and slide it underneath of your bar, bringing it up on top of the plate, and sliding it into place. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon Rooftop-Mounted Cargo Basket. This cargo basket is going to be part number TH859 and it's going to be 49 inches long, 40 inches wide, have a depth of 6 inches and with its sturdy steel construction is going to have that 150-pound weight capacity. Now, with the roof rack itself, it has 165, so 15 more pounds or so on top, you'll be all right. Up top, you can see that we already have three of our feet in place. We have the two front ones and then the rear driver's side as well. We're going to show you how to put on this last plate and all the brackets that hold it securely to your roof rack system. One thing to note is before you put it in place, you're going to need to adjust these using the tool provided to your crossbar spread. This crossbar spread particularly for this vehicle was 31.5 inches. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series crew cab pickup we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Load Warrior Rooftop Cargo Basket, that's part number Y07070. We've already got our Yakima roof rack system in place, so we're going to begin by placing the basket on top of the load bars. Got to ensure that the fairing is facing forward and that the feet are in a position to be placed around the bottom of the load bars so that they can be tightened into place. Got to loosen the thumb screws so that we can place this T-shaped bolt down through the foot and once they're down through, you're going to want to turn that that T sideways to lock into place. It helps if you just hold that into place with your finger from the bottom while tightening that thumb screw. This is accessible from both sides, so you're going to want to ensure that it's centered, that way you can access it from both sides. Now that I'm finished with the front, I'm going to fasten the rear. Now that that side is good and tight, actually it needs just a couple of more turns here, now we're ready for our driver's side. more

Yakima Loadwarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2011 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Today on our 2011 Chevy Traverse we'll be test fitting the Yakima LoadWarrior roof rack cargo basket, part number Y07070. With the factory roof rack system on our Traverse, we'll begin our test fit by placing the cargo basket up onto the vehicle's crossbars. There are 2 types of bolts on the brackets. There's 1 hex bolt and there's 1 T bolt. What you'll do is you'll twist the T-bolt to where the slot will fall out of the bracket. This allows you to swing the bracket on the underside of the crossbars. You'll insert the T bolt down through the opening of the bracket and then turn it 180 degrees. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Chevrolet Cruze- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Load Warrior, a roof rack cargo basket with part number Y07070. With our Yakima Hugh Towers roof rack system already installed on our Cruze and our cargo basket assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions, we're going to begin the test fit by placing our cargo basket directly onto our crossbars. We'll then loosen the black thumb screws. This will allow us to remove the t bolt from the lower half of our clamp. We'll bring our clamp around the underside of our crossbar. Once we have all 4 of these under, we can then start reinserting our black t bolts and tighten them down using the black wingnuts. Once we've done this for all 4 sets of brackets, our cargo basket is secured to our crossbars and we're ready to load it up. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Chevrolet Malibu- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu we're going to be test fitting the Thule Moab The Mother of All Baskets Rooftop Cargo Carrier, part number TH690XT. With our Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System already installed on the Malibu we'll begin our test fit with the rack assembled according the manufacturer's instructions. We'll place the basket directly onto our load bars. We'll then go around and remove one wing nut and bolt from each of the clamps. We'll move our rack rearward to position the clamps on the top side of our load bars and we'll bring the lower portion around. We can then reinsert the bolt and hold it in place with the wing nut. We'll then tighten down both wing nuts on each clamp. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Chevrolet Impala- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevy Impala, we'll be test fitting the Yakima LoadWarrior roof rack cargo basket, part number Y07070. With the Yakima Q towers roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin the test fit by placing the LoadWarrior directly onto our cross bars. We'll remove the t-bolt from the lower part of our clamp, bring it around our cross bars, reinsert the t-bolt, and tighten both wing nuts to secure to our rack. We'll now move it to the rear and repeat the same process on this clamp. With the passenger side secure, we'll now move to the driver's side, where we will repeat the same tightening process that we used on the passenger side. With all four of our clamps secure, we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road. That will complete today's test fit of the Yakima LoadWarrior roof rack cargo basket, part number Y07070 on our 2014 Chevy Impala. . more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be test fitting the Thule MOAB, the mother of all baskets roof top cargo carrier, part number TH690XT. With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our basket directly onto our load bars. We'll bring our clamp around our front bar, and fit the bolt up through the slots. We'll then secure it in place, by tightening down the 2 wing nuts. Once we have that tight, we can repeat this process for the other 3 clamps. With everything tight, our basket is secured to our roof rack and all we need to do is install our caps. With all 4 caps installed, we're all loaded up and ready to go. That completes today's test fit for the Thule MOAB, roof top cargo carrier, part number TH690XT, on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. more

We'll begin our test fit by placing the LoadWarrior directly onto our crossbars. We'll go ahead and center it with our vehicle and then we can bring our brackets around the underside of our crossbars. Once we have the bracket in place we can drop the bolt through and tighten the wing nuts. Once we have that tight we can then go to the other three brackets and repeat the same process. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado- Video
Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Series, we'll be test fitting the Thule Moab rooftop cargo carrier, the Mother Of All Baskets, part number TH690XT. With the Thule square bar roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Moab directly onto our load bars. We'll center it in line with our vehicle. Here at the front, we'll bring our clamp around our front bar, feed the bolt up through the bracket, and secure it with the wing nuts. We can repeat this process for the other three clamps. Once they're all tight, our Moab is secured to our roof rack, and we can install our black plastic covers. more
